Arab Association of Urology (AAU) is a non-profit organization established in 1996 with a mission to connect all Arab national societies to provide their members with a high standard of education, research and clinical practice in the field of urology.
AAU is a suitable platform offering not only world class services, which includes an in-depth understanding of the AAU member’s needs, but as an international association which has ample experience in the Arab region to help improve the practice of urology, education and training over the long term.
AAU’s objectives sit within the wider vision for AAU as a leading association, with a recurring partnership of mutual trust and growth that delivers consistent performance in the region over the course of many years.
AAU’s mission is to connect all the Arab national societies and provide their members with a high standard of education, research and clinical practice.
Professional Development: We aim to support the professional development of our members by providing educational opportunities, such as conferences, workshops, and online courses via the Arab School of Urology (ASU). These events may cover topics such as the latest advances in urological research and clinical practice, surgical techniques, and patient care.
Advocacy: We advocate for the interests of our members and the patients they serve. This may involve lobbying for policy changes, such as increased funding for urological research or improved access to urological care for underserved populations.
Networking: To provide opportunities for our members to connect and collaborate with each other, both locally and globally. This may include online forums, social events, and mentorship programs.
Public Education: We aim to educate the public about urological conditions and treatments. We drive education via the Arab Journal of Urology (AJU). This may involve creating educational materials, such as brochures and videos, and hosting public events, such as health fairs and seminars.
Research: We support and promote urological research by funding grants and scholarships, providing research resources and training opportunities, and collaborating with other organizations to advance the field.
Overall, the objectives of a urology association are to improve the quality of urological care, advance urological research and education, and support the professional development of its members.
